O2’s LGBT+ network might be best known for its Pride events, but at O2 its more than that.  We are proud to be part of a company that has an open culture and people at the centre of our success, but we still have work to do.  Our activity supports everyone to be proud of who they are and how they choose to identify themselves. Our aim is to reach out beyond our main offices and share our stories and support our people, friends or family members who wish to stand proud on their behalf. 

One of the things that we are really proud of is that we have created a toolkit for our people and managers to support individuals who are going through or considering starting a gender transition journey. As part of our commitment to promoting inclusion in the workplace, this toolkit ensures that our managers are fully prepared to support transitioning employees as we continue to build an environment where all employees, regardless of their gender identity or sexuality, feel comfortable coming to work and bringing their whole selves to work.

    Gay and Proud?

    People often ask me if I’m proud to be gay. My usual response is I’m proud to be Scottish. Being gay wasn’t something I sought after and achieved, like running a 10K. It’s just who I am. My hair is brown, I’m kind of tall. I don’t ever think I’m proud of that. So why would I be proud to be gay? But I know I’m proud to be Scottish.

    Proud of my boy, Proud of Leeds, Proud of O2

    I’ve always loved Pride and spent many happy times at Manchester Pride when I lived there but its never something I would have ever thought about doing with my young family. So when I was invited, along with my 5 year old son, to come on the O2 float I jumped at the chance.
