We know that when people look for new roles, base salary is one of the really important things they look at. Maybe also bonus or a commission payment and that’s it, the total package. Or is it?

Here at O2 we offer some really great benefits that we believe can help us to stand out from the crowd. There’s a lot of them and they’re not normally something we’d just list out but it would be a shame to miss anything out that might just really stop and make you think!

So, deep breath and here goes…lifestyle benefits including the ability to buy or sell holiday, a bike to work scheme and the learning fund. Then there are our health benefits such as gym membership (at our head office), health assessments and a health cash plan. And finally there are insurances including dental insurance, travel insurance, critical illness cover. Oh, and did we forget to mention our great pension plan and life assurance cover.

Anything there that grabs your attention?

Our employee’s favourite benefits might surprise you. Firstly it’s the ability to buy up to 5 days holiday on top of your holiday allowance – people love this benefit as it just gives them that extra flexibility for a longer holiday, to do things outside of work or maybe juggle childcare. And if you are one of those people that might struggle to use all of your holiday allowance and would prefer a little extra money instead, you can sell up to 5 days holiday too.

Critical illness cover is another firm favourite – it’s maybe not the most exciting benefit but it gives you a level of protection should you suffer from a serious illness in the future. And people have found that the cover available through our flexible benefits, is really good value. Peace of mind and it won’t break the bank.

Dental insurance offers another great deal – the ability to manage those expensive dental costs for you and your family. You take out the benefit, pay monthly from your salary and then claim back your dental costs.

Fancy learning a new skill? We offer support for people wanting to learn something new – for every £10 you put towards it, we will add another £5 into a learning fund (capped at £80/£40 each month). And don’t limit yourself to developing new skills for the workplace (although it covers this too) – we have people do everything from learning to fly to Zumba classes!
