Technology

Unsurprisingly, Technology at O2 sits at the heart of our business. It’s where great ideas come to life and drive our business forward. The department is comprised of six functional areas:

Information Systems Delivery is responsible for delivery of IS projects – everything from tariff changes through to supporting the O2 premiere. Mind you, the people who make it possible are Networks Engineering. They’re responsible for ensuring we meet O2’s capacity requirements, cost and customer experience targets.

One of those targets is network coverage. It’s our Radio Engineering Delivery team who focus on delivering the best overall network experience for our customers through intelligent expansion and optimisation of the network.

But how do we know everything’s working as it should be? That’s down to Service Operations. There’s a large team that focuses on supporting 2nd line technical queries whilst championing the customer experience and driving service quality.

In addition there are a number of teams that ensure the integrity of all the services offered by O2 from connection to our network, service usage and finally the provision of an invoice and the management of its payment. Our Programmes & Performance Effectiveness team supports the wider Technology team with vendor/commercial support, reporting, and most importantly co-ordinates and drives our People Programme.

So what about the big IT picture at O2? Technology Strategy & Governance encompasses all the elements of Technology across the IT world and network space, looking at our medium to long term future, the architecture principles needed to support it and the design governance to ensure we meet the challenges of the business.
