It comes up with three-year plans that decide which business ventures get the green light for investment. Or in other words, it’s where we shape the future of technology at O2.
The team also provides leadership and insight to the rest of the business, supplying technical consultants and expertise. Our F&I people challenge the rest of the business about how they do things. Building strong working relationships. And creating an environment where innovation can thrive. All this while still thinking commercially and providing support.
Skills for the future
It’s not just about being an IT expert (although technical skills are key).
It’s about working together, seeing the big picture and understanding business needs. Having the imagination to see the future and how O2 could be. If you’re a leader and visionary who can think ahead – but provide support here and now, you’ll feel right at home.
The role will focus on developing the financial models and business cases for a wide range of Technology initiatives being considered by the company in order to inform the go / no go decision. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, everyone in the Technology Strategy and often be required to present your findings to the board.
Your job is to be a lead thinker, architect, developer and all-round ninja in the newly formed Platform 2.0 team. You’ll help to create new platforms for service innovation. Twitter, Facebook, Twilio, Teleku, Paypal – these are all platform plays. Developer ecosystems. Open innovation. API heaven.
