There’s no such thing as a “dull moment” working for O2.
I joined O2 as a fresh faced placement student, eager to learn and unaware of what was in store for me. On reflection, any expectation I had back then would have been surpassed – it was an unforgettable year full of laughter, hard work and treasured memories.
It’s been two years since then, I’m 23 and back in the Brand team as a Campaigns Assistant working across the Advertising, Creative Services and Brand Experience team. My workload is always diverse and challenging. Latest projects include creating new mobile broadband packaging, branding offshore sites, refreshing laptop guides and working on new software releases.
I manage these projects from a brand perspective but ultimately the workforce behind each one is substantial. The ability to be organised, communicate well and have meticulous attention to detail are essential. It’s not a job purely based in the office, I’m often in London catching up with our agencies seeing our work come alive.
Whilst the work may be hard and stressful at times, working with a wealth of experience and a mixture of characters makes everything a lot easier and best of all, fun. We work hard and play hard – I’ve surfed waves in Newquay alongside the Brand team, danced the night away at our Marketing Conferences and played five-a-side football at the Emirates Stadium.
And what’s the best thing about working here? It has to be the education I’ve received and the opportunities on offer. I’ve not yet found my niche but I rather enjoy not knowing what I’ll be working on next.
