My O2 Journey

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

In 1999 I started my O2 journey joining the company as a part time sales advisor. I used the ability to balance my work and education and completed a degree in I.T in 2004. I then worked full time in Bluewater and rapidly progressed to a management position. In O2 I have learned a lot and been given opportunities to extend my knowledge in many other areas and this has been like another education.Currently I work in the City of London in a busy five day a week store were we create thousands of fan’s a week. I and my team have had many achievements and this is solely down to the way we are allowed to manage our business.

On Friday I meet up with my friends from the other stores in my area and socialise and reflect on what we have achieved all week.

I would recommend anyone to work for O2 and be part of the family for many years to come. Here you will learn, develop and achieve whatever you wish for and still maintain a good balance of life.

O2 through new eyes

I decided to apply for a customer service role at O2 after hearing great things from people who already work there; it made me really interested and want to be part of the team.

When I applied online I was surprised and pleased how quick my application was looked at, before I knew it a telephone interview was arranged. As agreed and right on time I had my interview with a really friendly lady, which helps put your nerves at ease. I was great to hear at the end of the call I was successful and would be contacted again for a face-to-face interview.

On arrival to the call centre after arranging my face-to-face interview, I was greeted by friendly helpful staff. I sat with other candidates who also seemed nice which gives you a sense of the people you would potentially be working with.

We met with a lady from HR who talked us through what to expect during the interviewing process, which was an interview with an assessor, a tour of the centre then a listening, question and answer exercise which you would discuss with another assessor. The recruitment team were really enthusiastic and genuinely interested in getting to know you as a person and not trying to catch you out in anyway.

Having never worked at call centre environment before and not knowing what to expect was quite daunting; however, after my interview day and being offered the position.

And now I am in my first week of my career at Telefónica O2.
