Stepping Stones - your development with us
I was recently given the challenge of creating an online tool for career development, not an easy task but one that I was really keen to take on. O2 is a great place to work and I wanted to create a platform where we could really shout about the opportunities available.I decided on the name ‘Stepping Stones’ as the purpose of the site is to give people access to a variety of development tools that will help them progress. Development does not always mean moving up to the next level, but can also include growing and advancing skills in the role you are in.
The site has been designed to provide all the help and support needed to make time at work as interesting and varied as possible. Having listened to feedback it soon became clear how keen people were to gain exposure to other areas of our business and broaden their skills.
The site will give everyone access to the development opportunities available and offer help and advice on career development. There are also tips on how to prepare for interviews and guidance on building a perfect CV, something that not everyone finds easy.
It’s early days and the site is still very new, but so far it’s proving to be a great success!
