International Assignment Programme
Three years and a dizzying career in Telefonica O2
Personal and professional growth found in Telefonica O2 International Assignment Programme.
When I finished University in Chile in October 2006, I never thought about the turns that life had prepared for me, especially in Telefonica O2. Nowadays I am 27, and 3 years ago I started working for Telefonica Chile as an HR internship. After a couple of years working on recruitment, development and engagement programmes, in July 2008 I saw the opportunity to join the Telefónica’s worldwide development programme, and the 1st September 2008 I was ready to join the O2 UK HR team.
I travelled halfway around the world to work 6 Months on Flexible Benefits and 6 months on Talent Acquisition in the UK team. Both were very challenging and exciting opportunities. On August 2009, when the assignment was about to finish, I was ready to go on holidays, and then back to Chile, and WOW a new opportunity. After an extraordinary time off in Italy and Germany, I joined the Regional HR team for Telefonica O2 Europe to work on the new Pan - European HR model.
In a nutshell. In less than three years, two countries, 5 different teams, and even more 5 different and challenging projects! That’s what I could call vertigo in a company.
Telefonica O2 encourages development and progression for all its staff and my career is proof of that, no matters if is in UK, Chile or in any other of its 27 countries.
I was planning to stay just 6 month in the UK, but know I will be at least for two years! Life in Telefonica O2 brings constant and different challenges. And that’s what I meant when above wrote “I never thought about the turns that life had prepared for me, especially in Telefonica O2″, and if you want a dizzying career, this is the company!
Adios y suerte
