Its Review time!!

As 2010 begins the next big focus is Annual Performance Reviews…… managers are busy writing them and in the run up to Christmas I was busy thinking about the things I did in 2009 that I am proud of.

2009 marked my first full year as a Resourcing Assistant and what a year it has been. One of my main achievements was working as Reflect Champion for the team were I got the chance to be involved in some of the great things we have done as a result of Reflect, our annual employee engagement survey.

I really enjoyed taking part in a team building day at Iveson Primary School in Leeds where the whole Resourcing Team got together and helped to build a path and do gardening in the school. I also enjoyed putting together a library for the office and having meetings with my colleagues to find out how they felt we could improve our working environment.

I also completed my Certificate in Personnel Practice in 2009, with the support of O2 I managed to achieve a Distinction! What an achievement! In December I was quick to get my ‘Learning Fund’ started – a matched funding scheme that’s part of the Flexible Benefits package I receive. This has helped me fund a postgraduate qualification, the Certificate in Personnel and Development that I started in September, another thing I am proud of.

The nicest thing about APR time is that it reminds me of all the things I achieved in 2009 and motivates me to make 2010 a year that really counts. It’s great to get some recognition for achievements and the opportunity to get support for the things I need to develop, it’s lovely to take the time to have a chat with my manager and see how she thinks I am doing.

Here’s to a successful 2010!
