My Christmas Job was just the beginning

Monday, October 26th, 2009

When I started work for O2 as a Christmas temp I had no idea that 8 years later I would still be here.

Right from the start the training and development I was given was second to none and the encouragement from colleagues and managers alike told me that this was a company I would enjoy working for.

Opportunities for developing my career have been made known to me throughout and after moving from Assistant Manager to Branch Manager I have now been appointed Senior Manager.

O2 encourages development and progression for all its staff and my career is proof of that - I wouldnt want to work anywhere else.

Its good to be back!!

 Coming back to work after maternity leave was quite a daunting prospect;

 I had spent every day of the last 9 months with my little boy and was feeling very apprehensive about putting him in nursery.

 My Manager was great at putting me at ease and helping me plan my return to work, in fact she could not have been more accommodating.   She came out to visit me at home while I was off to make sure I was up to speed on changes within my team as well as business updates.  When it got closer to my return date she invited me in to Skypark to have a chat about what I would be doing when I came back and it was great to see so many friendly faces.  It really made such a difference and it made my first day back a lot easier.

I have been back for a couple of weeks now and everyone in my team has been really great at getting me up to speed with everything.  I am feeling very optimistic about the future and I am really looking forward to getting my teeth in to the projects I am going to be involved with.

 I really do feel like O2 is a great place to work and it’s nice to be back.

Guru Careers

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

 O2 now have some Guru Opportunities available in our stores in different locations throughout the UK.This is a great job if you enjoy working and playing with new technology and showing colleagues and customers alike how to use it.

To find out more either search this site for blogs written by our Gurus or visit the Careers home page and use the keyword search “Guru” to see if a store near you has a position available.

The selection process starts with a telephone interview a technical test. If you pass that then you go along to meet the Store manager with a prepared presentation and an interview which will take around 60-90 minutes all in.

 Good luck
