Telephone Interviews

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Why I enjoyed my telephone interviews?

As a Recruitment Consultant I spend a lot of time talking to candidates making sure that they understand all about O2 and what we have to offer.

To help us pick the right candidates we also conduct telephone interviews.

I have had a really good day today and wanted to share it with you, today I telephone interviewed various candidates for roles in O2 and I really enjoyed it.

The reasons were

The candidates all seemed relaxed and chatted freely

There were no distractions or current background noise

I really got to understand how candidates performed as they seemed to listen to the question and relate it back to what they have done in previous jobs.

There were no time constraints on either side

Everyone I talked to had also taken the time to look at our website and look into O2.

You can make your telephone interview easier on yourself by following the above steps, if you don’t understand a question or feel have lost track - just say so and we will repeat the question for you- we want you to do well after all .

Good Luck

Tom

Changing Opportunities…

Monday, June 1st, 2009

I worked in a number of industries before joining O2, Local Government, Entertainment, Motoring and Financial and none of them evolved as quickly as what I have seen in the last 4½ years of working for O2.I started working for O2 in September 2004 within the Corporate department as a Customer Service Advisor dealing with telephone and email enquiries for a wide variety of companies. You learn very quickly that nothing stays the same for very long, new systems, processes, products, services are constantly being developed to improve the service we offer our customers. This means that the people that work for O2 have to be willing to adapt and change just as quickly. I spent just over 3 years in the Corporate team and enjoyed my time there but just as much as O2 evolved in that time I myself was looking for the next challenge in my career.

I am now currently working in the Recruitment Team as a Recruitment Assistant and have been here for just over 18 months. I now conduct telephone interviews covering the retail and customer service roles that O2 offer and deal with general telephone enquiries. This has given me the opportunity to increase my knowledge of all O2’s places of work but also to share my experiences of O2 with prospective employees and giving them an insight of what a career at O2 would be like and the directions that they can go. The variety of positions that are available at O2 are constantly evolving to match the company itself, so development opportunities are always available to employees looking to further their career or just to have a wider knowledge of O2.
