What I love about O2 …

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

I joined O2 4 ½ year ago as an Area Manager and was immediately attracted to the brand because of the sense of team work and the buzz that people had working for O2. When I joined it was everything I thought and more and for the first 6 months I was overwhelmed by what a great place to work O2 was; I hadn’t experienced anything else like it in my career.

I quickly discovered that we had a work hard play hard environment where everyone’s contribution made a difference and as an individual my views, thoughts and feedback were considered.  What I also love about O2 is the opportunity to develop and progress your career and after 3 years I was promoted to Divisional Manager thanks to the support of everyone I worked with.

If you want to be an individual, be able to make a positive contribution and work within a great team then O2 Retail is definitely for you!

Apply Yourself!

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

I don’t suppose anyone views applying for a job as one of the most enjoyable things they have ever done, however it shouldn’t be painful.  Like most large companies, we ask our candidates to apply online via our careers site.  The reason for this is simple.  We receive over 35,000 job applications per year and we need a way of tracking them that is far more efficient than paper based forms.  It also means less risk to the candidate of having their details going astray and let’s not forget it helps the environment as well!

However, we recognise that online application forms have their fans and others find them frustrating.  We’ve been making a lot of changes to our careers site and our online application this year and we’ve got more plans for the future.  Delivering a positive candidate experience is our number one priority and we know there’s always more we can do to improve things for you.

So, let us know what you think.  If you’ve applied to us or are about to and think you’ve spotted something we could improve in the application process, drop us a line and we’ll post a reply.

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Here at Glasgow Skypark, we are looking for talented individuals to join us on a part-time basis as a Technical Customer Service Advisor in our highly successful Broadband department during evenings and at weekends.  Perhaps you are studying an IT or Technical qualification, or maybe you’re studying another discipline but have great IT knowledge or experience, or a real passion for technology.  Either way, if you have a passion for giving fantastic customer service and are looking for a part-time role to fit in with your studies, the benefits you’ll receive could have a real impact - not only now but way into the future!  Yes you will benefit from working for a top 10 employer, great on-site facilities, flexible benefits, supportive environment and a very competitive salary.  But, you will also have worked in a role relevant to your course before you have even graduated, and you’ll be able to put your course theory into practise in a fast-moving and challenging environment, which in today’s competitive marketplace may well set you apart from other graduates.  And on top of that, we even have dedicated study areas and a free shuttle bus to get you here after your day at college or uni.  So why not apply now!  For more info, why not check out the ‘Day in the Life Of’ profiles on the Broadband section of the website.  Hopefully we’ll be seeing you soon!
